BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Thiel College women's soccer team lost a non-conference game to the SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles, 6-0, on the road Saturday afternoon.
Brockport got on the board two minutes into the game and never looked back. Two goals in seven minutes extended the Brockport lead to 3-0, before a goal three minutes before halftime gave the Golden Eagles a 4-0 lead.
Two goals six minutes apart in the second half finished off the scoring.
Thiel was led by
Stacie Weimert (Jamestown, Pa./Jamestown) and
Abbey Balentine (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick).
Brockport was led by Autumn Edwards who recorded one goal and one assist. Amelia Breton and Jaylah Cossin each recorded a goal.
Brianna Hollandsworth (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend) got the start for the Tomcats, making eight saves.
Madison Rodgers (Reinholds, Pa./Cocalico) finished the final 45 minutes, making 12 saves.
For Brockport, Emily McCane started, going the first 45 minutes. Madeline McCrosson and Karissa Champion each played in the second half.
The Tomcats will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Penn College. The non-conference game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
