GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's soccer team dropped a non-conference game to the La Roche Redhawks, 3-0, Friday night at Alumni Stadium.
In a game that did not actually kick off until 9:08 p.m., the first 15 minutes were scoreless. However, La Roche broke the deadlock in the 16
th minute through Finnleigh Gould, who would score the first of her three goals. La Roche added a second in the 33
rd minute, and capped of the scoring in the 69
th minute.
Thiel was led by freshman
Imogen deBlois (Hubbard, Ohio/Howland), who recorded four shots, including two on goal. Fellow freshman
Hannah Brady (Conneautville, Pa./Conneaut Area) recorded three shots, while
Stacie Weimert (Jamestown, Pa./Jamestown) recorded one shot on goal.
Gould led La Roche with a hat trick. Alexandra Mecchia recorded two assists, while Kiki Nemcek recorded two shots.
Madison Rogers started for Thiel, notching eight saves.
Julianna Hornikel started for La Roche, making one save. Danielle Dominick finished the game for the Redhawks, recording three saves.
The Tomcats will return to action on Thursday when they host Penn State Beaver at Alumni Stadium. The non-conference game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
