GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's lacrosse team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game to the Allegheny Gators, 23-9, Wednesday night at Alumni Stadium.
The Tomcats tied the game up at 2-2 midway through the first quarter. However, an 8-0 scoring run for the Gators gave them the lead for good, with the Tomcats never able to regain momentum.
Thiel was led by
Chase Lawler (Etters, Pa./Red Land) who recorded a team-best five goals and three assists. He also six ground balls and caused a turnover.
Zach Melin (Chardon, Ohio/Chardon) recorded two goals, while
Bennett Medyn (Macedon, N.Y./Palmyra Macedon) recorded a goal and an assist. Medyn also caused three turnovers.
John Robbins (Jeannette, Pa./Penn-Trafford) recorded an assist.
In net for the Tomcats,
Ethan Narby (Bath, N.Y./Haverling) recorded 20 saves.
Allegheny was led by JP Rakis who recorded five goals and two assists. Alex Crespo recorded four goals and two assists, while Gideon Sullivan recorded four goals and two ground balls.
In net for the Gators, Garin Stearns started the game and made seven saves, earning the win. Isaac Michalek and Christian Habusta also split time in goal.
The Tomcats will return to action on Saturday when they host the Washington and Jefferson Presidents. The PAC game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
