GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team dropped a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game to the Grove City Wolverines, 59-52, Saturday afternoon.
Prior to the game, the Tomcats honored four seniors,
Marlon Ellerbee (Temple Hills, Md./Oxon Hill),
Kyiam Exum (Temple Hills, Md./Central), AJ Green and
Rayshod Hooper (Baltimore, Md./St. Frances Academy), along with graduate student
Jordan Beale (Durham, N.C./Voyager Academy) during senior day.
The first half was back and forth, with Thiel taking an early 6-0 lead. However, Grove City went into the half up 26-24.
The Tomcats led by three (51-48) with 2:03 left in regulation. However, the Wolverines would end up closing the game on an 11-1 run to win the game 59-52.
Thiel was led by Hooper who recorded nine points and nine rebounds.
Mike Brown (Clinton, Md./Gwynn Park) recorded nine points and two boards, while
Elijah Harden (Sharon, Pa./Kennedy Catholic) recorded nine points and four assists.
Grove City was led by Mike Christenson who recorded 12 points and five rebounds. Chase Yarberough recorded 11 points and six boards.
The Tomcats head into the final week of the season when they travel to Bethany on Wednesday. The PAC game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
