SECOND HALF COMEBACK FALLS SHORT AGAINST GENEVA

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. - The Thiel Women's Basketball team dropped road contest against Geneva 81-69 this past evening.  

The Tomcats outscored Geneva 41-25 in the second half but fell short of victory. Thiel was able to keep the Golden Tornados 2-32 from the three-point line, and 36-89 from the field.  

Freshman Catherine Kelly (Butler, Pa./Moniteau) had another outstanding performance, having a career-best 20 points and team high 12 rebounds on the night. Kelly went 10-17 from the field and added two assists and one steal to her tally.  

Kelly's performance tonight was her first double-double of her collegiate career. 

Issy Green (Slippery Rock, Pa./Portersville Christian) also put up a career-high 18 points to help the Tomcat offense. Green had a team-best four steals and went 5-8 from the free throw line.  

Kayley Risser (Reynolds, Pa./Dubois Central Catholic) picked up seven points, while Josie Lewis (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) added four assists, and Bria Ringloff (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) grabbed eight boards.  

Geneva's offense was led by Emily Garvin who put up 21 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.  

Anna Ulmer (15), Alexandra Cozzens (14), and Mackenzie Barricklow (10) also contributed to the Golden Tornados' victory. Barricklow grabbed 10 rebounds, while Garvin and Ulmer each had eight.  

The Tomcats will be back in action when they return home Monday, December 2nd to face off against Penn State Shenango. The non-conference matchup will begin at 5:30 p.m.
