GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's soccer team dropped a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game to the Grove City Wolverines, 12-2, at Alumni Stadium Saturday afternoon.
Grove City got on the board first, but Thiel was able to equalize less than four minutes later.
The Wolverines then scored two goals in a one-minute span to get the lead for good.
Imogen deBlois (Hubbard, Ohio/Howland) pulled one back for the Tomcats, but that would be all the Tomcats would score.
Thiel was led by deBlois who recorded one goal and one assist.
Abbey Balentine (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick) recorded a goal.
Ashley Ross (Springdale, Pa./Springdale) recorded two shots, while
Hannah Brady (Conneautville, Pa./Conneaut Area) also recorded a shot.
Grove City was led by Emma Herrmann who recorded four goals and one assist. Marina Hahn recorded one goal.
In goal for Thiel,
Brianna Hollandsworth (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend) started for the Tomcats, making six saves.
For Grove City, Courtney Lisman started, making one save. Maddie Mills played the second half, making three saves.
The Tomcats are back in action on Wednesday when they host the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets. The conference game is slated to begin at 5 p.m.
