BEREA, Ohio – The Thiel College men's soccer team lost a non-conference game on the road to the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets, 5-1, Tuesday night at George Finnie Stadium.
Baldwin Wallace broke the deadlock eleven minutes into the game, before doubling their lead in the 35
thminute.
A little over a minute later, the Tomcats would cut the deficit in half after
Evan Young (Suitland, Md./Henry E. Lackey) buried his penalty kick.
Three minutes later, the Yellow Jackets would restore their two-goal lead, going into the half up 3-1.
Baldwin Wallace added two second half goals to round out the scoring.
Young led the Tomcats with two shots on goal and one goal.. Freshman
Ashton Redmond (Leechburg, Pa./Leechburg) recorded two shots, while
AJ Trobek (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) recorded one shot.
For Baldwin Wallace, Julian Kieres recorded four shots on goal, including a goal. Mike Kane recorded two shots on goal, including a goal.
In net,
Nick Kristian (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) recorded nine saves. For Baldwin Wallace, Sam Cipriano started the match, before Seth Warrick played the final frame, recording one save.
The Tomcats return home for a three-game homestand, beginning with the La Roche Redhawks on Thursday at Alumni Stadium. The non-conference game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
