Wightman, Johnson tally 100th points of season against Waynesburg

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Junior Ashlyn Wightman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) and senior Destiny Johnson (Baltimore, Md./Western) both tallied their 100th points of the season Wednesday in Thiel's 22-4 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win over the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets at Alumni Stadium.
 
Ashlyn entered Wednesday's game with 95 points. She tallied her 100th point with 3:20 remaining in the first quarter on a man-up goal.
 
Ashlyn led all players with 19 draw controls, six goals and five caused turnovers.
 
Johnson had 93 points coming into Wednesday's game. She recorded her 100th point on an unassisted goal with 10:30 remaining in the second quarter.
 
Johnson recorded seven points (5G, 2A) against the Yellow Jackets. She also had two draw controls and made two saves in the second half in her first appearance as a goalie.
 
Ashlyn (102) and Johnson (100) rank one-two, respectively, in program single-season history for points. Cassy Mahdi (2015) held the record (90) prior to this season.
 
Camy Seman (Conneautville, Pa./Conneaut Area) and Hayden Wightman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) scored three goals apiece. Mary Cassano (Fairview, Pa./McDowell) and Katie Aaron (Lehighton, Pa./Lehighton Area) netted two goals apiece.
 
Eve O'Sullivan paced Waynesburg with four points (3G, 1A).
 
Justina Jenkins (Dresden, N.Y./Penn Yan) and Johnson combined to make three saves for Thiel. Anna Bradley made eight saves for Waynesburg.
 
The Tomcats will conclude their season Saturday when they host the Bethany Bison at Alumni Stadium. The opening draw for the PAC game is set for 3 p.m.
