SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Thiel College men's and women's track & field teams competed at the Dave Labor Invitational, hosted by Slippery Rock University, on Saturday.
The invitational was disrupted due to high winds and thunderstorms.
For the women,
Hannah Strott (Mogadore, Ohio/Field) finished 23
rd in the women's 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:16.65.
Hannah Jones (Clarks Mills, Pa./Commodore Perry) (5:28.65) finished 38
th, while
Ava Kidder (Cowansville, Pa./Armstrong) (5:57.98) finished 69
th.
For field events,
Kaylee Suarez (Youngstown, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) finished tied for third with a mark of 1.55 meters in the women's high jump.
Tumba Powell (Cleveland, Ohio/Charles F. Brush) finished tied for seventh with a mark of 1.50 meters. In the women's long jump,
Alexis McFadden (Kennerdell, Pa./Franklin Area) (4.53 meters) finished 38
th. In the women's discus throw,
Brooke Mottley (Rock Creek, Ohio/Geneva) (30.93 meters) finished ninth, while
Isabelle Iliev (Olian, N.Y./Greenville) (26.70 meters) finished 25
th.
For the men,
Brock Newsome (Clyde, Ohio/Clyde) finished 20
th in the men's 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:12.75.
Matt Beuermann (Tasmania, Australia/) (4:24.25) finished 39
th, while
Tristan Mylnarek (Delta, Ohio/Delta) (5:10.01) finished 70
th.
In the men's field events,
Peyton Ennis (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) finished 13
th in the men's triple jump with a mark of 12.22 meters. In the men's discus,
Frank Fugman (Aurora, Ohio/Crestwood) finished 10
th with a mark of 39.10 meters, while
Keith Rager (Derry, Pa./Derry Area) (32.49 meters) and
Anthony Baileys (Dayton, Pa./Redbank Valley) (30.31 meters) finished 24
th and 28
th, respectively. In the men's javelin throw, Nickolas Kobielus finished 14
th with a mark of 44.81 meters.
The Tomcats are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Grove City College.
