WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game Saturday on the road to the Washington & Jefferson Presidents, 81-68.
Thiel led at halftime 44-35, but W&J opened the second half on a 12-3 run to tie up the game 47-47. The Presidents went on to outscore the Tomcats 46-24 in the second half to improve to 10-3 in conference play.
Beni Lavodrama (Washington, D.C./Phelps ACE) paced the Tomcats with 15 points and nine rebounds.
Marlon Ellerbee (Temple Hills, Md./Oxon Hill) scored 14 points, secured seven rebounds and handed out six assists.
Elijah Harden (Sharon, Pa./Kennedy Catholic) and
Mike Brown (Clinton, Md./Gwynn Park) scored 10 and nine points, respectively.
Rayshod Hooper (Baltimore, Md./St. Frances Academy) corralled nine rebounds and scored eight points.
Five Presidents scored 10 points or more, led by Nick Gearhart who scored 24 points.
The Tomcats (8-8, 7-6 PAC) will host the Bethany Bison (2-16, 2-11 PAC) on Wednesday. The game will begin at 6 p.m.
