GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team lost a non-conference match to the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets, 3-1, on Tuesday.
The Yellow Jackets went ahead early with two goals in the opening ten minutes. They would add a third eight minutes before halftime, and that deficit would be too much for the Tomcats.
For the Tomcats, sophomore
Chase Yopp (New Brighton, Pa./New Brighton) recorded the teams only goal in the 89
th minute. Senior
Garret Smith (Warren, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) provided the assist. Yopp also led the Tomcats with three shots. In net, senior
Noah Brieck (Kensington, Ohio/United) and freshman
Nick Kristian (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) combined to make nine saves in the contest.
For the Yellow Jackets, Owen Reyes, Nick Young and Max Yakym each recorded a goal. In net, Zoltan Nagy and Matt Beck split time.
The Tomcats are back in action when they host the Alfred State Pioneers for a non-conference matchup at Alumni Stadium on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
