GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Thiel College men's tennis team opened its season Thursday with a 6-3 non-conference loss to the Pitt Greensburg Bobcats at the Greensburg Racquet Club.
Thiel picked up wins at second and third singles.
Eli Flinchbaugh (Oil City, Pa./Oil City) defeated Devin Summers 0-6, 7-6, 10-6 at second singles while
Haruto Kuroda (Himeji-shi, Japan) topped Roman Ruscitto 6-3, 6-4 at third singles.
Nathaniel Udell (Meadowbrook, Pa./Abington) and
Noah Brieck (Kensington, Ohio/United Local) beat Ruscitto and Cole McGirk at No. 2 doubles, 8-2.
The Tomcats will face the Penn State Behrend Lions Friday on the road. The non-conference match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
