GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's soccer team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference match to the Saint Vincent Bearcats, 4-0, Wednesday afternoon.
The Tomcats held tough for a majority of the first half, but two goals in a three-minute span turned the game around.
The Bearcats broke the deadlock in the 37
th minute, doubling their lead in the 40
th minute, and would lead 2-0 at the halftime break. The Bearcats added two more goals in the second half to finish off the scoring.
For the Tomcats, junior
Bailey Fritz (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) and sophomore
Heather Farr (Conneaut, Ohio/Edgewood) each recorded a shot on goal. In net, junior
Samantha Hoffman (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) and senior
Bethany Bonnar (Beaver, Pa./Beaver Area) combined to make eleven saves in the match.
For the Bearcats, Brooke Garman, Morgan Klingeman, Kylie Albertson and Tanisha Grewal each recorded a goal. In goal, Madison Arnold and Maggie Perkins combined to make two saves.
The Tomcats are back in action on Tuesday for the final home match of the season when they welcome the Bethany Bison to Alumni Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
