GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's soccer team lost to the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets, 5-1, Saturday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets took control of the game early with two goals in less than a minute. The Yellow Jackets added two more goals to take a 4-0 lead into halftime.
The Yellow Jackets would add a fifth in the 58
th minute, while the Tomcats would pull a goal back less than a minute later.
For the Tomcats, freshman
Tessa Allison (Akron, Ohio/Field) recorded her third goal of the season. Senior
Kelly Clark (New Castle, Pa./Mohawk) led the team with four shots. In net, senior
Bethany Bonnar (Beaver, Pa./Beaver Area) and junior
Samantha Hoffman (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) teamed up to make a combined 10 saves in the match.
For the Yellow Jackets, Brooklyn Loveland, Demaree Livingston, Jacinda Devart, Emily Redman and Chloe Zook all recorded a goal a piece. In net, Kennedy Schuck, Autumn Blair and Mya Riggle combined for one save.
The Tomcats are back in action when they welcome the Grove City Wolverines to Alumni Stadium for a Presidents' Athletics Conference matchup. The match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
