GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's soccer team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game to the Grove City Wolverines, 9-1, on Tuesday afternoon.
The Wolverines got on the board just four minutes into the game and would never look back. The Wolverines would go into the halftime break up 7-0.
The Wolverines took an 8-0 lead before senior
Hannah Strott (Mogadore, Ohio/Field) recorded the Tomcats' only goal. Grove City would add one more goal in the 75
th minute to finish off the scoring.
For the Wolverines, Britta Lagerquist led the team with two goals. In goal, Sara Swoboda and Courtney Lisman combined to make three saves.
For the Tomcats, Strott recorded her first goal of the season. Freshman
Jenna Murrey (Cambridge, Ohio/Cambridge) recorded her first collegiate point with the assist on the goal. In net, junior
Samantha Hoffman (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) and senior
Bethany Bonnar (Beaver, Pa./Beaver Area) combined to make seven saves.
The Tomcats are back in action when they travel to Chatham on Saturday for a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
