WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel College women's tennis team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match on the road Wednesday to the Washington & Jefferson Presidents, 9-0.
Jaelyn Kennedy defeat freshman
Payton Blankenbeckley (Portsmouth, Ohio/Minford) 6-3, 6-2 at fourth singles.
Thiel also lost three close doubles matches. Maya Krishnasamy and Libby Conlon topped
Natalie Zgurich (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) and
Sarah Haritos (Wilmington, Del./Concord) 8-7 (7-4) at No. 1 doubles. Bella Goldman and Lisha Chadda defeated
Allyson Stanley (Oil City, Pa./Oil City) and Blankenbeckley 8-6 at second doubles while Victoria Wilson and Kennedy topped
Madeline Depalma (Ravenna, Ohio/Ravenna) and
Reagan Hayne (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) 8-6 at No. 3 doubles.
The Tomcats will face the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets on the road on Saturday. The PAC match is scheduled to begin at noon.
