GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's soccer team defeated the Bethany Bison, 7-1, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game on Wednesday. The Tomcats also recognized their seniors
Amber Hoskins (Cutler Bay, Fla./South Dade),
Nicole Pereksta (Parma Heights, Ohio/Valley Forge), and
Madison Acor (Houston, Pa./Chartiers-Houston) before the game.
The game was scoreless for most of the first half until the Tomcats struck first nearly 34 minutes in. In the second half, the Tomcats ran away with the game, scoring five unanswered goals to close out the 7-1 victory.
The Tomcats were led by multi-goal efforts from
Taylor Warner (Greenville, Pa./Greenville),
Kelly Clark (New Castle, Pa.), and
Reilly Lutz (Alliance, Ohio/Marlington), scoring three, two, and two goals, respectively. Pereksta,
Madison Walsh (Monongahela, Pa./Ringgold),
Arlene Barreto (Covina, Calif./Bishop Amat Memorial), and
Katlyn Phillips (Hanoverton, Ohio/United) each notched an assist.
Samantha Hoffman (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) allowed just one goal and tallied eight saves in the winning effort.
For the Bison, Kirwan Myia scored the loan goal, assisted by Riley Meyers. Corinne Grabow recorded six saves in net for the Bison.
The Tomcats will look to keep rolling when they travel to take on the Washington and Jefferson Presidents Saturday at 4 p.m.
