GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team lost, 5-1, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest against the Bethany Bison. Thiel also celebrated senior night for
Andreas Hauge Jonassen (Stavanger, Nor/).
The first half was a close one, with the Tomcats scoring the only goal off of the foot of
Evan Young (Bryans Road, Md./Henry E. Lackey). However, in the second half, the Bison took control, scoring five unanswered goals en route to a 5-1 final.
For the Tomcats, Young recorded four total shots, one on goal, which was the lone Tomcats goal. Jonassen also notched three shots on goal.
Yuta Koike (Ichikawa, Jpn./) and
Rodney Washburn (Vandalia, Ohio/Butler) also took shot attempts.
Devin Weisbarth (Akron, Ohio/Norton) tallied 12 saves in the contest.
Five different Bison scored, including Pedro Chillemi, who also recorded an assist off the bench. Adis Salihovic allowed just one goal and saved three shots.
The Tomcats' next game will be Saturday at Washington and Jefferson on Saturday at 1 p.m.
