WARREN, Ohio – The Thiel College men's golf team lost a match play competition to the Westminster Titans Wednesday at Avalon Lakes, 3.5-1.5.
The Tomcats got a win from the No. 5 competition, with
Mark Knox (Franklin, Pa./Franklin) defeating Cal Cummins (3&2). The Tomcats and Titans also each got half of a point from No. 1, with Thiel's
Zach Doddo (Sandy Lake, Pa./Lakeview) and Westminster's Jonny Stuckert tying.
At No. 2,
Tyler Zere (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Connetquot) lost to Michael Bell (5&3).
Luke Sadowski (Sharon, Pa./Sharon) was defeated by Brendan Shaughnessy (4&3) in the No. 3 matchup, while
Logan Pistorius (Karns City, Pa./Karns City Area) fell to Sam Napper (6&4) at No. 4.
The Tomcats' next scheduled event is back at Avalon Lakes for the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship on Monday.
