PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team was defeated 3-2 on the road by the Chatham Cougars Monday in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament consolation game.
Chatham won the first set 25-16, but Thiel won 25-17 in the second set and 25-23 in the third set. The Cougars stayed alive with a 25-15 win in the fourth set before completing the comeback with a 15-11 win in the decisive fifth set.
Kylee Eaton (Parker, Pa./AC Valley) led the Tomcats. She recorded a match- and career-best 21 kills and owned an attack percentage of .259. Eaton, who accounted for 25 points, also registered 16 digs and three blocks.
Raquel McDonald (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Grimes) and
Madi Yurich (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) recorded seven kills apiece while
Sarah Orr (Conneaut Lake, Pa./Conneaut Area) and
Gianna Militi (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) contributed 13 digs apiece.
Also for Thiel,
Abby Triskett (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) handed out 28 assists while recording eight digs.
Courtney Grubbs (Freeport, Pa./Freeport) chipped in with eight assists and seven digs.
Emily Richie led Chatham with 14 kills and 13 digs. Meghan Dominek notched 30 digs while Brynn Zajac notched 10 kills.
