GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game on the road Saturday to the Grove City Wolverines, 3-1.
Thiel lost the first set 25-23 but rebounded to win 25-16 in the second set. However, The Wolverines went on to win the third set 25-21 and the fourth set 25-14 to secure the PAC victory.
Raquel McDonald (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Grimes) and
Madi Yurich (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) led Thiel's attack with 14 and 11 kills, respectively.
Natalie Zucco (Cleveland, Ohio/North Royalton) chipped in with nine kills.
Courtney Grubbs (Freeport, Pa./Freeport) handed out 40 assists and recorded 11 digs while
Gianna Militi (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) tallied 13 digs.
Elisabeth Sems led the Wolverines with 14 digs and 12 kills. Gabby Lucas recorded 20 digs while Anna DeGraaf notched 10 kills. Sarah Webb tallied a match-best 42 assists.
The Tomcats (2-1) will return to action Saturday when they face the Westminster Titans on the road at 11 a.m.
