NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel College women's soccer team was defeated by the Westminster Titans, 2-0, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) showdown on Saturday afternoon.
The Titans scored a goal 9:05 into the match and went into halftime with a 1-0 game. Both teams were scoreless for 57:42 since the first goal when the Titans added to their lead and went on to win 2-0.
The Tomcats were led by a 14 save effort by
Bethany Bonnar (Beaver, Pa./Beaver Area).
Reilly Lutz (Alliance, Ohio/Marlington) led the Tomcats with four shots.
Taylor Warner (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) and
Kelly Clark (New Castle, Pa.) notched a shot on goal apiece.
Kate Sollers (Suffield, Ohio/Field),
Bailey Fritz (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Austintown Fitch), and
Nicole Pereksta (Parma Heights, Ohio/Valley Forge) each attempted a shot.
The Titans were led by goals from Skylar Bryant and Corrine Larson. Camille Holzschuh totaled two saves in the shutout.
The Tomcats' next game will be on the road Tuesday against Franciscan. The start time is slated for 5 p.m.
