GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team lost a pair of matches to the Geneva Golden Tornadoes Tuesday night at Beeghly Gymnasium.
Geneva won the first match, which counted as a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest, 3-1, by scores of 25-15, 24-26, 25-22, 25-15.
Raquel McDonald (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Grimes) paced the Tomcats in the first match with 10 kills and four blocks.
Kylee Eaton (Parker, Pa./AC Valley) recorded eight kills and 12 digs while
Emily Sears (Jefferson, Ohio/Geneva) tallied 20 digs.
Courtney Grubbs (Freeport, Pa./Freeport) handed out 27 assists while collecting six digs and two kills.
Abby Triskett (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) also chipped in with 10 digs.
Daphne Hunsinger led Geneva in the PAC match with 23 assists, 11 kills and 10 digs. Kayla Couglin registered 28 digs.
Geneva also won the second match in four sets (25-15, 25-12, 24-26, 25-8).
Natalie Zucco (Cleveland, Ohio/North Royalton) and Eaton combined for 15 digs in the non-conference match while Sears recorded 15 digs.
Mya Storll (Linesville, Pa./Conneaut Area) tallied 18 assists and 11 digs.
Tess Neville and Olivia Moore led the Golden Tornadoes with 13 and 11 kills apiece in the second match. Hunsinger dished out 27 assists.
The Tomcats (2-4, 2-3 PAC) will face the Chatham Cougars on the road Friday. The PAC match is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
