BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Thiel College women's tennis team lost its season opener to the Geneva Golden Tornadoes on the road Friday, 6-3.
Thiel won a pair of singles matches on the day.
Sarah Haritos (Wilmington, Del./Concord) defeated Emily Grove 3-6, 6-0, 10-8 at fourth singles while
Payton Blankenbeckley (Portsmouth, Ohio/Minford) beat Laura Lin Comollo 6-0, 6-2 at fifth singles.
Blankenbeckley also paired with
Allyson Stanley (Oil City, Pa./Oil City) for an 8-4 win over Kaylee McCall and Mady Paquet at second doubles.
The Tomcats will return to action Tuesday when they face the Grove City Wolverines on the road. The match is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
