BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Thiel College women's soccer team opened its season Saturday with a 2-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss to the Geneva Golden Tornadoes.
 
Both of Geneva's goals were scored in the first half. April Mann scored the opening goal at the 35:55 mark on a pass from Katherine Estep. A little more than two minutes later, Katie Bodenmiller scored the second and final goal of the game.
 
Arlene Barreto (Covina, Calif./Bishop Amat Memorial) put two shots on goal for the Tomcats while freshman goalkeeper Samantha Hoffman (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) made 10 saves.
 
Julia Hart made four saves for Geneva.
 
The Tomcats will return to action next Saturday when they face the Grove City Wolverines on the road. The PAC game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
