GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's basketball team erased a 16-point halftime deficit Monday night to earn a 61-52 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win over the Franciscan Lady Barons at Beeghly Gymnasium.
The Tomcats outscored the Lady Barons 27-11 in the third quarter to force a 42-42 tie heading into the final 10 minutes of play.
Destiny Johnson (Baltimore, Md./Western) scored the game-tying bucket with 56 seconds remaining in the third quarter, and
Rachel Breckenridge (Burton, Ohio/Berkshire) gave the Tomcats their first lead (42-41) in the second half on a three-pointer 23 seconds later.
Nielah Jones (Baltimore, Md./Catholic) drained a trey 1:22 into the fourth quarter, and the Tomcats went on to lead the rest of the contest.
Johnson scored 16 points and corralled a game-best 16 rebounds. She also contributed eight assists, three blocks and two steals. Johnson made 6-of-14 shots from the floor and added four points at the line. Breckenridge led the Tomcats with 18 points while securing seven rebounds. Breckenridge made 6-of-14 shots from the floor. She made 4-of-10 from beyond the three-point line and went 2-for-2 at the charity stripe.

Indea Phillips (Warren, Ohio/Warren G. Harding) scored 14 points to go along with eight rebounds. Jones chipped in with six points on a pair of three-pointers.
Victoria Unnerstall scored a game-best 19 points for Franciscan while Angela Starre recorded 13 rebounds.
The Tomcats will face the Bethany Bison Thursday on the road. The PAC game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
