GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel Tomcats women's basketball team lost to the Grove City Wolverines at Beeghly Gymnasium, 102-49.
The Tomcats kept it close early, grabbing an 8-5 lead early in the first quarter. The Wolverines answered back with a 13-3 run to close out the quarter leading 18-10. Grove City maintained and expanded on that lead throughout the game.
Destiny Johnson (Baltimore, Md./Western) led the Tomcats with eight points.
Rebecca Litz (Brookfield, Ohio/Brookfield) led the team with seven rebounds and chipped in two assists.
Indea Phillips (Warren, Ohio/Warren G. Harding) recorded seven points and four rebounds.
The Wolverines were led by Jess Bowden with 20 points, seven assists, and four steals. Kat Goetz recorded a double-double. 14 different Wolverines scored in the contest.
The Tomcats next matchup will be on the road against the Geneva Golden Tornadoes on Saturday. The start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
