GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball defeated the Saint Vincent Bearcats Saturday at Beeghly Gymnasium, 69-56.
The Tomcats led by 11 points at halftime (43-32) and never looked back in the second half to earn their first win of the season.
Ahmad Tejumola (Waldorf, Md./Saint Charles) and
Chima Omeihe (Lake Worth, Fla./Park Vista Community) led the Tomcats with double-doubles. Tejumola led Thiel with 24 points and notched a game-high 13 rebounds. He made 10-of-17 shots from the floor and 4-of-5 from the charity stripe. Omeihe scored 17 points and corralled 11 rebounds. He made 7-of-11 shots from the floor and went 3-for-5 at the line.
Shemar Bennett led the Bearcats with a game-best 25 points to go along with 11 rebounds.
The Tomcats (1-1) will return to action Wednesday when they face the Grove City Wolverines on the road. The game will begin at 5:30 p.m.
