PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Thiel College men's basketball team was defeated, 96-60, by the Lake Erie Storm in a non-conference game on Monday.
Marlon Ellerbee (Temple Hills, Md./Oxon Hill) led the Tomcats with 11 points and four assists. He also chipped in six rebounds, a block, and a steal.
A.J. Green (Youngstown, Ohio/Austintown-Fitch) notched his first double-digit scoring game as a Tomcat, shooting 5-of-6 with 10 points, five rebounds, and a steal in just 17 minutes.
Daquan Simmons (Capitol Heights, Md./Central),
Ahmad Tejumola (Waldorf, Md./Saint Charles),
Andre Williams (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Boyd H. Anderson), and
Ethan Barnes (Boynton Beach, Fla./Suncoast) each tallied eight points apiece. Tejumola led the game with nine rebounds. Williams recorded seven rebounds and a block.
Jordan Burton led the Storm with 16 points. Jacob Plantz scored 13 points with five steals, two assists, three rebounds, and a block. Jonny Manning and Jackson Burdyshaw tallied 14 and 13 points, respectively.
The Tomcats' next game will be their home opener on Sunday against the Allegheny Gators. The non-conference game is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m.
