Breckenridge scores 23 points in loss to Bears

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Senior guard Rachel Breckenridge (Burton, Ohio/Berkshire) scored 23 points Sunday, but it wasn't enough for the Thiel Tomcats in a 76-53 loss to the Bridgewater State University Bears during play in the NYU Tip-Off Classic.
 
Breckenridge's 23 points were a game-high. She made 7-of-15 shots from the floor, 7-of-12 from three-point range and went 2-for-3 at the line.
 
Destiny Johnson (Baltimore, Md./Western) scored 12 points for the Tomcats while adding eight rebounds. Rebecca Litz (Brookfield, Ohio/Brookfield) led Thiel with nine rebounds while also contributing six points.
 
Arielle Cleveland had a double-double for the Bears with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Sophia Gaucher scored 11 points while Olivia Dziadyk scored 10 points.
 
The Tomcats will host the Geneva Golden Tornadoes at Beeghly Gymnasium on Wednesday, Dec. 1. The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game will begin at 5:30 p.m.
