BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Thiel College women's tennis team lost a non-conference match to the Medaille Mavericks on the road Tuesday, 6-3.
Natalie Zgurich (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) and
Payton Blankenbeckley (Portsmouth, Ohio/Minford) figured in on all three wins for the Tomcats.
Zgurich won 6-2, 7-5 over Jasmine Mott at first singles while Blankenbeckley defeated Hallie Dworzanski 6-3, 6-4 at second singles.
Zgurich and Blankenbeckley also won 8-0 at first doubles over Dworzanski and Kristina Hryshchuk.
At fourth singles,
Reagan Hayne (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) lost 6-0, 2-6, 5-10. At third doubles,
Emily Peters (Ravenna, Ohio/Ravenna) and
Mei Williams (New Wilmington, Pa./Wilmington Area) lost 7-8, 5-7.
The Tomcats will host the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets on Wednesday. The Presidents' Athletic Conference match will begin at 3:30 p.m.
