BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team was defeated, 2-0, by the Geneva Golden Tornadoes in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game Saturday.
The Golden Tornadoes struck first just over 36 minutes in. The game remained at 1-0 until the Golden Tornadoes added an insurance goal with about 17 minutes to go and held on to win 2-0.
For the Tomcats, goalkeeper
Devin Weisbarth (Akron, Ohio/Norton) tallied nine saves. This was his fifth match with at least eight saves.
Brock Newsome (Clyde, Ohio/Clyde) recorded a shot on goal.
For the Golden Tornadoes, Cole Sauer and Kyle Lapoure scored goals, assisted by Ian Gelsinger and Antonio Fiordilino. Gabe Kemp and Evan Shale combined for a shutout.
The Tomcats will look to get back in the win column when they take on the Grove City Wolverines at Alumni Stadium on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
