Tomcats sweep Golden Tornadoes

GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel Tomcats swept the Geneva Golden Tornadoes 3-0 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match Thursday night at Beeghly Gymnasium.
 
The Tomcats won in straight sets 25-18, 25-19, 25-23.
 
Freshman Katie Stamp (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman) led the Tomcats with 11 kills and nine digs while owning an attack percentage of .526. Raquel McDonald (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Grimes) registered 10 kills while owning an attack percentage of .500. Kylee Eaton (Parker, Pa./AC Valley) notched nine digs, eight kills and three blocks.
 
Maria Torres (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman) registered nine kills and six digs in the win. Danielle Aulet (Austintown, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) led all players with 35 assists to go along with seven digs. Abby Triskett (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) tallied a match-best 20 digs.
 
Kami Mummau led Geneva with 11 kills. Samantha Peachey recorded 20 assists and 10 digs while Maggie Townsend tallied 13 digs.
 
The Tomcats, who have won six of their last eight matches, improved to 7-5 in conference play with Thursday's win. They will face the Westminster Titans on the road Saturday. The PAC match will begin at 10 a.m.
