GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's soccer team was defeated, 1-0, by the Franciscan Lady Barons in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game on Wednesday.
The lone goal in the contest was scored by Franciscan just over 18 minutes into the game. Both teams were scoreless the remainder of the defensive battle, as the two teams combined for seven shots on goal in the game.
For the Tomcats,
Kate Sollers (Suffield, Ohio/Field) notched two shots, one on goal.
Taylor Clayborn (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) also recorded a shot on goal. Goalkeeper
Samantha Hoffman (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) tallied four saves and allowed just one goal in the game.
For the Lady Barons, Tania Davidson scored a goal on five shot attempts, including two on goal. Kaitrin O'Leary assisted Davidson's goal. Mercedes Murray recorded a shutout with two saves in net.
The Tomcats' next game will be at Bethany on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
