GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College Department of Athletics announced Friday that 17 student-athletes were recently inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society.
Chi Alpha Sigma is a nonprofit organization established to recognize college student-athletes who excel both on and off the field of competition.
The first and only nonprofit organization that was established to recognize college student-athletes who excel both on and off the field of competition, Chi Alpha Sigma was founded in 1996 by then DePauw University head football coach Nick Mourouzis.
Chi Alpha Sigma recognizes college student-athletes who receive a varsity letter in their sport, achiever junior academic standing or higher after their fifth full time semester, and earn a 3.4 or higher cumulative grade-point average.
Thiel College was designated as a member of Chi Alpha Sigma in 2010.
