Presidents defeat Tomcats

WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel College women's basketball team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game on the road Wednesday to the Washington & Jefferson Presidents, 73-46.
 
Thiel held a 17-16 lead at the end of the first quarter, but Washington & Jefferson went on to lead 33-22 at halftime en route to the conference win.
 
Nielah Jones (Baltimore, Md./Catholic ) came off the bench to lead Thiel with 12 points while also contributing five rebounds. Emily Harriman (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) scored 10 points and chipped in three rebounds and three assists. Courtney Harriman (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) scored nine points while Colleen Trainer (Latrobe, Pa./Mount Pleasant) scored eight points and corralled nine rebounds.
 
Alie Seto led the Presidents with 14 points. Maria Lawhorne recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Piper Morningstar scored 11 points.
 
The Tomcats will be back in action Saturday when they host the Chatham Cougars. The PAC game is set to begin at 1 p.m.
