Jones paces Tomcats against Bearcats

GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's basketball team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game to the Saint Vincent Bearcats Monday at Beeghly Gymnasium, 86-48.
 
Nielah Jones (Baltimore, Md./Catholic ) paced the Tomcats with 13 points while also recording four rebounds and three steals, all of which were season-bests for the freshman guard. Destiny Merriwether (Youngstown, Ohio/East ), another freshman, led Thiel with a game-high and personal-best nine rebounds to go along with seven points and a pair of blocks.
 
Rachel Breckenridge (Burton, Ohio/Berkshire) contributed nine points and five rebounds for the Tomcats while Colleen Trainer (Latrobe, Pa./Mount Pleasant) scored eight points and corralled five rebounds.
 
Madison Kollar led the Bearcats with a game-high 20 points and also secured six rebounds. Jenna Lafko contributed 10 points.
 
Thiel will take on Washington & Jefferson on the road Wednesday. The PAC game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
