GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's soccer team dropped an 8-2 Presidents' Athletic Conference contest to the Grove City Wolverines on Friday.
Grove City got on the board early scoring their first two goals in the first 10 minutes of the game. The Wolverines would add two more goals by the 33
rd minute for a 4-0 advantage.
Emma Polinski (Brunswick, Ohio/Trinity) would work her corner kick magic in the 41
st minute. Polinski would put the ball on the head of
Emily Harriman (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) who slipped it past the Grove City defense for her first collegiate goal.
Grove City would add four more unanswered goals to their lead in the second half.
Polinski scored her second goal of the season by way of an unassisted free kick cutting the deficit to an 8-2 margin.
Ruby Mattson led the Wolverines with four goals.
Defensively,
Bethany Bonnar (Beaver, Pa./Beaver Area) tallied three saves during her time in net.
The Tomcats will take a break from conference play when they host the Defiance Yellow Jackets on Monday. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
