Aldrich, Fowkes and Patrice lead Thiel’s offensive outburst

GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College baseball team collected a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win on Friday over Geneva College 21-9 at Tomcat Park.

The Tomcats wasted little time scoring as Joe Mott (Kinsman, Ohio/Badger) drove in the first run of the game on a sacrifice-fly before Christian Aldrich (Cranberry Township, Pa./Central Catholic) homered to right field to make it 4-0 after one. A sac-fly from Nash Matson (Kittanning, Pa./Armstrong) in the second made it 5-0 in favor of the Tomcats.

Geneva broke Sante Carducci's (Toronto, Ohio/Toronto) shutout in the third before the Tomcats answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning. Another three runs in the fifth gave Thiel a 12-1 advantage.

The Tomcat offense continued to click in the sixth as Nick Fowkes (New Eagle, Pa./Ringgold) collected a two-rbi single and Daniel Patrice (Munich, Germany/EST) homered to left field to score three, while Aldrich added two more runs on a double to right center.

Thiel took the PAC contest 21-9 as Carducci collected the win.
