LATROBE, Pa. – The fifth-seeded Thiel Tomcats were eliminated from the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament after suffering a 3-0 quarterfinal loss to the fourth-seeded Saint Vincent Bearcats Tuesday at the Carey Center.
The Bearcats won the first set, which featured 20 ties and seven lead changes, 31-29. Saint Vincent went on to win 25-21 in the second and third sets to clinch the win and advance to the conference semifinals.
Raquel McDonald (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Grimes) led Thiel's attack with 12 kills and a pair of blocks.
Natalie Zucco (Cleveland, Ohio/North Royalton) led the Tomcats with 15 digs while also collecting eight kills.
Rebecca Dougherty (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank) also recorded eight kills. Dougherty and McDonald combined for five blocks.
Courtney Grubbs (Freeport, Pa./Freeport) handed out a match-best 33 assists for Thiel to go along with 10 digs.
Hailley Kendall (Saint Paris, Ohio/Graham) chipped in with 12 digs.
Sarah Wozniak and Madison Reeping led Saint Vincent with 16 and 11 kills, respectively. Hannah Devine and Madi Marsico both notched 20 digs while Carly Augustine registered 22 assists.

Tyler North, have qualified for the last two PAC Women's Volleyball Championship Tournaments. Thiel won nine of its final 15 matches in 2019.
