LATROBE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team ended the 2019 season by playing to a draw with Presidents' Athletic Conference opponent, Saint Vincent on Friday.
After 30 scoreless minutes, Saint Vincent scored two goals less than two minutes apart to take a 2-0 advantage into the second half.
Christopher Felger (New Castle, Pa./Mohawk) got the comeback started for the Tomcats in the 68
th minute after being fed by
Christian Heini (Medina, Ohio/Highland) cutting the lead to 2-1.
In the very last second,
Andreas Hauge Jonassen (Stavanger, Nor/) blasted his shot into the upper left side of the net sending the game in overtime.
Both teams recorded multiple shots in the overtime periods in an attempt to break the tie.
Defensively,
Noah Brieck (Kensington, Ohio/United Local ) and
Devin Weisbarth (Akron, Ohio/Norton) combined for 11 saves in net.
Jonassen ends the season on a four-game scoring streak.
