Thiel falls to Geneva

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Thiel College women's soccer team dropped a 3-2 Presidents' Athletic Conference match to the Geneva Golden Tornadoes on the road on Saturday.
 
Thiel got on the board first after Emily Harriman (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) set up Madison Acor (Houston, Pa./Chartiers-Houston) in front of the net who put the ball past Geneva defense for the 1-0 lead in the 11th minute.
 
Two unanswered goals gave the Golden Tornadoes a 2-1 lead heading into the halftime break.
 
Emma Polinski (Brunswick, Ohio/Trinity) took advantage of a Tomcat penalty to tie the game at 2 in the 56th minute.
 
Olivia Mincone scored the game-winner from 25 yards out in the 62nd minute to seal the victory for Geneva. Erin Houser and Erica Sumner also scored for the Golden Tornadoes.
 
Defensively, Bethany Bonnar (Beaver, Pa./Beaver Area) tallied 10 saves during her time in net.
 
The Tomcats are back in action on Friday Oct. 11th when they host the Westminster Titans. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
