GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel Tomcats lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match to the Westminster Titans Thursday night at Beeghly Gymnasium, 3-0.
The Titans won in straight sets 25-20, 25-12, 25-11.
Courtney Grubbs (Freeport, Pa./Freeport) paced the Tomcats with 19 assists, 16 digs, a pair of aces and a block in the loss.
Natalie Zucco (Cleveland, Ohio/North Royalton) and
Abby Triskett (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) chipped in with 11 digs apiece.
Rebecca Dougherty (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank), who was honored during Senior Night prior to Thursday night's match, tallied a pair of kills and digs.
Kylee Eaton (Parker, Pa./AC Valley) recorded five kills.
Becky Adelman led the Titans with 14 kills and six blocks. Josie Toporcer contributed 21 digs while Samantha Kelly handed out 19 assists.
Thiel fell to 10-18 overall and 9-6 in PAC play with Thursday's loss. The Tomcats will close out regular-season play Saturday when they face the Saint Vincent Bearcats on the road. The PAC match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
