GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's soccer team lost a 4-2 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest to the Chatham Cougars Tuesday at Alumni Stadium.
After drawing their second-consecutive corner kick, the Tomcats got on the board first when Emma Polinski (Brunswick, Ohio/Trinity) found Arlene Barreto (Covina, Calif./Bishop Amat Memorial ) on the far side of the 18-yard box who kicked the ball out of the air into the back of the net in the 27th minute.
Thiel would take the 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
Chatham scored all four of their goals in the second half. The Tomcats would cut into the Cougar lead in the 87th minute when Polinski found Barreto for the second time in the game. A 4-2 deficit was as close as Thiel would get to the lead.
Emily Nolan, Kere O'Donnell, Genevieve Zeswitz and Morgan Anderson all scored for Chatham.
Defensively, Bethany Bonnar (Beaver, Pa./Beaver Area) recorded 15 saves for the Tomcats.
The Tomcats will conclude the 2019 season on Friday when they travel to Saint Vincent for a PAC match against the Bearcats. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
