GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's basketball team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game to the Washington & Jefferson Presidents at Beeghly Gymnasium Thursday, 73-50.
Senior guard
Jess Vormelker (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) led the Tomcats with 23 points while securing eight rebounds. She also recorded a pair of assists, steals and blocks. With her two blocks, Vormelker moved into third on the program's career list (102), surpassing Julie Sierota (100), who played for the Tomcats from 1986-90.
Thiel freshman forward
Destiny Johnson (Baltimore, Md./Western) tallied her eighth double-double of the season with 13 points and a team-best 10 rebounds.
Lauren Gilbert scored a game-high 32 points for the Presidents. Danielle Parker earned a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Alie Seto chipped in with 10 points.
The Tomcats will face the Chatham Cougars on the road Saturday. The PAC game is set to begin at 6 p.m.
