NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team suffered a 75-63 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss on the road Wednesday to the Westminster Titans.
After trailing at halftime (35-27), Thiel opened the second half on an 8-0 run to tie up the score (35-35). The Tomcats went on to take a 5-point lead (50-45) with 12:43 left to play after
Daquan Simmons (Capitol Heights, Md./Central) and
Anthony Byrd (Plantation, Fla./Blanche Ely) connected on 3-pointers on back-to-back trips down the court.
Westminster tied up the game less than two minutes later and went ahead for good with 10:34 remaining in the second half.
Terrance Holloway (Farrell, Pa./Farrell) paced the Tomcats with a game-best 21 points while recording four rebounds and three steals.
Alonzo Brown (Largo, Fla./Pinellas Park) scored eight points and notched a game-high eight rebounds.
Nyric Gosley (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) and Simmons each scored eight points for the Tomcats.
Austin Armwood, A.J. Grant and Anthony Ritter scored 15 points apiece for the Titans.
The Tomcats will host the Saint Vincent Bearcats Saturday at Beeghly Gymnasium. The PAC game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
