Ramirez paces Tomcats against Fighting Muskies

NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Thiel College women's soccer team lost a non-conference game on the road Monday to the Muskingum Fighting Muskies, 4-1.
 
Britney Golden gave Muskingum the lead when she scored on a free kick in the 41st minute. Ali Gilt put the Fighting Muskies up 2-0 with a little more than 20 minutes remaining when she scored after receiving a cross pass from Katya Vernon.
 
Marissa Ramirez (Amherst, Ohio/Amherst Steele) got the Tomcats back into the game roughly eight minutes later when she scored her second goal of the season, this one from the top of the box on a pass from Nicole Pereksta (Parma Heights, Ohio/Valley Forge).
 
Golden went on to score her second goal of the game at 78:41 on another free kick, and Vernon closed out scoring with 9:51 remaining in regulation after receiving a pass from Abigail Wagner.
 
Chimamaka Palmer (Northfield, Ohio/Mayfield) made 10 saves for Thiel while Shay Tresler (Fairview, Pa./Fairview) made four saves. Katie Bodenmiller made 10 saves for Muskingum.
 
The Tomcats will host the Medaille Mavericks Wednesday at Alumni Stadium. The non-conference game is set to begin at 4 p.m.
