ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Thiel College women's volleyball team wrapped up play at the Mount Union Invitational on Saturday. Senior defensive specialist
Peyton Allen (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) was named to the All Tournament Team for her performance.
The Tomcats dropped both matches in straight sets on Saturday to nonconference opponents Denison University and the University of Mount Union.
Thiel faced Denison in game one and fell by scores of 25-23, 25-17, and 25-15.
Kasey Kohler (New Springfield, Ohio/Springfield Local) led the Tomcats in kills with seven. Allen added a team-high 16 digs and freshman setter
Courtney Grubbs (Freeport, Pa./Freeport) racked up nine assists in match number one.
Thiel then went on to face the hosting Purple Raiders. The Tomcats were the most competitive in the second set as they only fell 25-17. Mount Union swept the match by scores of 25-14, 25-17, and 25-12.

Morgan Harayda (Erie, Pa./Harborcreek) led the team in kills with six and
Abby Triskett (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) collected a team-high nine digs in match number two.
Thiel returns home to Beeghly Gymnasium on Wednesday, September 5th for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup against Grove City College, the match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
