GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's lacrosse team concluded the 2018 season Saturday with an 11-6 Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) loss to the Saint Vincent Bearcats at Alumni Stadium.
 
The Bearcats took a 2-0 lead on goals from Frank Casile and Jeremy Kennedy early in the first quarter.
 
The Tomcats responded late in a first frame with a pair of goals of their own. 
Kyle Reib (Erie, Pa./McDowell) got the Tomcats on the scoreboard with 2:48 left in the first when he netted a man-down goal on a pass from 
Desmond Stuart (Roanoke, Va./Salem). The Tomcats tied up the score less than a minute later when 
Shawndel Evans II (New Haven, Conn./Notre Dame) scored an unassisted marker.
 
Saint Vincent outscored Thiel 4-1 in the second quarter to hold a 6-3 lead at halftime. Evans II made it a 6-4 game a little more than a minute into the third quarter when recorded his second unassisted goal of the game.
 
Trailing 8-4 late in the third, 
Jeffrey Karnoff (Ringoes, NJ/Hunterdon Central) got the Tomcats back in the game on an unassisted goal. Evans II scored his third goal of the game early in the fourth quarter to get the Tomcats back within two goals, but the Bearcats closed out the game with three unanswered goals to secure their 10
th ORLC win of the season.
 
Evans II led the Tomcats with a hat trick while Karnoff tallied two points (1G, 1A).
 
Casile led the Bearcats with four goals while Kennedy scored three goals.
 
Cole O'Connor (Midlothian, Va./James River) made 19 saves for the Tomcats while Brandon Martin made 16 saves for the Bearcats.

Jared Saffer (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills),

Murphy Wood (Austin, Texas/LC Anderson) were all honored prior to Saturday's game during senior day.
 
The Tomcats went 8-7 overall and 6-4 in the ORLC in 2018.
