GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's lacrosse team won an Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) game over the Westminster Titans Wednesday at Alumni Stadium, 13-5.
It was the Tomcats' fourth straight win and their seventh win in their last eight games.
After a scoreless first quarter the Tomcats opened the second frame with four straight goals, including a pair by
JJ Raab (Butler, Pa./Butler).
The Titans got on the scoreboard on a man-up goal with 4:41 remaining in the second quarter, but Thiel responded with three more goals to hold a commanding 7-1 lead at halftime.
Shawndel Evans II (New Haven, Conn./Notre Dame) led the Tomcats with four goals. Raab finished with a hat trick while
Kyle Reib (Erie, Pa./McDowell) recorded four points (1G, 3A).
Also for Thiel,
Jared Saffer (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) scored two goals while
Andrew Casile (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) finished with a pair of assists.
Adrian Culp paced the Titans with two goals.
Cole O'Connor (Midlothian, Va./James River) made 18 saves to pick up his eighth win of the season. Carter Hall made 17 saves for the Titans.
The Tomcats (8-6, 6-3 ORLC) will conclude the 2018 regular season Saturday when they host the Saint Vincent Bearcats at Alumni Stadium. The ORLC game is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
